Clean and Simple – Ink Only

This card was inspired by the Creativity Meets C9 Challenge

This month’s challenge was to use ink only! No colored pencils, markers, watercolors and minimal embellishments. I didn’t plan for this card to be a clean and simple technique, but I liked the way it looked right off the bat. Usually, I have to stare at a card because ‘something’s missing’ but I felt that this card was complete 🙂

I used the Cuddle’s and Hugs stamp set from Concord and 9th. I stamped the hugs in the center of a piece of white cardstock with gold Delicata ink (so pretty!). I created a mask for the hug using the coordinating die and some masking paper. I placed the mask over the word and placed the large heart over the stamped hugs. Using my Misti, I stamped the image using three different colors. I chose Hero Arts Red Royal for the bottom, Ultra Pink for the center and soft Cantaloupe for the top.  The Misti allowed me to get a really dark image.

To finish the card, I inked the edges of a white, side folding card with the same Red Royal ink, cut the ‘hugs’ stamped piece down and adhered it to the front of the card to give it a little bit of border.

Thanks for stopping by!
